WAILUKU — Da Maui High School baseball team showed grit and determination in their last two games. When faced with challenges, the Sabers found a way to fight back and win.

On Saturday, the Sabers rallied from a four-run deficit to snatch a 9-6 win over Kamehameha Maui, completing a sweep of the three-game series. The day before, they scored single runs in the last two innings to beat the Warriors 4-3. ??

This win pushed the Sabers, ranked second in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser top-10 poll, to an impressive 6-0 record in Maui Interscholastic League (MIL) Division I play. The Warriors, however, fell to 4-5. ?

Maui High coach Chase Corniel praised his team’s never-give-up attitude, saying that every game against Kamehameha Maui is tough. He emphasized the importance of competing all the way through the game. ??️
