Da class dat wen graduate wen go thru six-month intensive training dat had both book learning an’ body fitness training. ??

“Da 206th Police Recruit Class goin’ join Honolulu’s Finest soon,” HPD officials said. ??

Dey wen hol’ da ceremony on Thursday, April 13 at 6:30 p.m. at Kamehameha Schools Kapālama Campus’s Princess Ruth Keʻelikōlani Performing Arts Complex. ??

HPD wen livestream da ceremony on top dea YouTube page so friends, ohana, an’ local peeps could watch. ??

Accordin’ to da police department, had nine recruits dat wen graduate, an’ all dem come from diff’rent kine life. ??‍✈️

One recruit wen work construction befo’. Had some dat wen work in da food-service, an’ oddahs wen serve in da military befo’. ?️??️

“Mahalo fo’ making Oʻahu mo’ safe an’ bettah fo’ all, no mattah wea we live, wat kine car we drive, or if we get house or we houseless. Tanks fo’ showing courage an’ aloha to all,” said HPD Chief Joe Logan. ???

One recruit wen talk story ’bout his passion fo’ being one guardian fo’ da community. ?️?

“Fo’ me, I stay honored fo’ graduate as one officer from my alma mater Kamehameha. When I tink back, no should be one surprise fo’ me. I no dance hula, so was eithah dis or HFD,” Recruit Marshall Kaohu Nishimura wen explain. ??

Wat’s next fo’ dese fresh rookie officers? Dey goin’ be part of da Field Training an’ Evaluation Program. ??‍♂️

During dis program, dey goin’ work wit’ da experienced HPD officers who goin’ teach ‘um an’ give ‘um chance fo’ learn in da real world. ?️?‍?

??‍♂️ Graduation Time for the 206th Police Recruit Class

The Honolulu Police Department recently held their 206th graduation ceremony for the new police recruits class. ??‍♀️

The graduating class underwent a six-month intensive training program that included both academic work and physical fitness training. ??

“Members of the 206th Police Recruit Class will soon join the ranks of Honolulu’s Finest,” said HPD officials. ??

The ceremony took place on Thursday, April 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the Kamehameha Schools Kapālama Campus’s Princess Ruth Keʻelikōlani Performing Arts Complex. ??

HPD live-streamed the ceremony on their YouTube page so friends, family, and local residents could watch. ??

According to the police department, there were nine graduates from various backgrounds. ??‍✈️

One recruit previously worked in construction. Others had experience in the food-service industry, and some were former military service members. ?️??️

“Thank you for making Oʻahu safer and better for everyone, regardless of where we live, what kind of car we drive, or whether we have a house or are homeless. Thank you for displaying courage and compassion to all,” said HPD Chief Joe Logan. ???

One recruit shared his passion for becoming a community guardian. ?️?

“For myself, I am honored to graduate as an officer from my alma mater, Kamehameha. In retrospect, it probably shouldn’t be a surprise to me. I don’t dance hula; so, it was either this or the Fire Department,” Recruit Marshall Kaohu Nishimura explained. ??

What’s next for these new rookie officers? They will be assigned to the Field Training and Evaluation Program. ??‍♂️

During this program, they will work with experienced HPD officers who will provide mentorship and opportunities to gain real-world experience. ?️?‍?
