Kamehameha Avenue, from Waianuenue Avenue to da State Fisheries Research Station driveway, goin’ be closed in both directions from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. foa da parade an’ staging area. ?

Da parade route ?‍♂️??‍♀️ goin’ start from Piopio Street, turn left on Pauahi Street, right on Kilauea Avenue, go on to Keawe Street, turn right on Waianuenue Avenue, an’ right on Kamehameha Avenue, finishing at Bishop Street. ?

Bayfront Highway traffic in both directions goin’ be rerouted through Hilo Bayfront Park. ?? Be aware dat Waianuenue Avenue an’ Pauahi Street goin’ be closed at Bayfront Highway. ?

Da parade route closure goin’ start at 10 a.m., an’ da parade goin’ kick off at 10:30. ⏰

Da kine police officers, traffic cones, barricades, an’ electronic message boards goin’ be all ova, so please listen to da officers an’ pay attention to da signs. ??

Parking space closures goin’ be in effect from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both sides of Kilauea Avenue an’ Keawe Street between Ponahawai Street an’ Waianuenue Avenue, according to da Hawaii Police Department. ??️ Both sides of Waianuenue Avenue between Keawe Street an’ Kamehameha Avenue goin’ have closed parking spaces too. But no worry, marked parking spaces foa da disabled still goin’ be available. ?

Also, dis Saturday, Kalanikoa Street between Piʻilani an’ Kuawa streets goin’ change to one-way traffic pattern (going Hilo bound). ? Da regular traffic pattern goin’ come back on Kalanikoa Street at 8 a.m. Sunday. ⏰

Hello everyone! ? Today, the 60th Annual Merrie Monarch Festival Royal Parade ?? is taking place, and there will be some road closures to ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment of the event. ?

Kamehameha Avenue, from Waianuenue Avenue to the State Fisheries Research Station driveway, will be closed in both directions from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the parade and staging area. ?

The parade route ?‍♂️??‍♀️ will begin at Piopio Street, turn left on Pauahi Street, right on Kilauea Avenue, continue onto Keawe Street, turn right on Waianuenue Avenue, and right on Kamehameha Avenue, ending at Bishop Street. ?

Traffic in both directions on Bayfront Highway will be rerouted through Hilo Bayfront Park. ?? Please note that Waianuenue Avenue and Pauahi Street will be closed at Bayfront Highway. ?

The parade route closure will begin at 10 a.m., and the parade will kick off at 10:30. ⏰
