Hawaiian families are gearing up for da graduation season, and with dat comes da heavy traffic around da University of Hawaii’s Manoa campus. Da campus gonna be hosting a dozen ceremonies, and drivers and residents in da area should be prepared for traffic delays.
According to UH, drivers and nearby residents should expect heavy traffic two hours before and one hour after each ceremony. UH is asking everyone to plan ahead and be patient as Hawaii celebrates da great accomplishments of our students.
Da Stan Sheriff Center has been hosting more high school graduation ceremonies since da closure of Aloha Stadium. UH is being used more also because of renovations to da Neal S. Blaisdell Center. So, if you’re driving in da area, make sure you give yourself plenty of time and be ready for da traffic.
On-campus parking gonna be available for $10 per vehicle. UH West Oahu already kicked off da series last Saturday. All but one of da following ceremonies gonna be held in da Stan Sheriff Center.
UH Manoa gonna hold two commencement exercises dis Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 to 7 p.m. After dat, there gonna be high school graduation ceremonies at da following schools:
- Mililani High School, Tuesday from 6 to 10 p.m. ?
- Waipahu High School, May 17 from 6 to 10 p.m. ?
- Roosevelt High School, May 18 from 6 to 10 p.m. ?
- Moanalua High School, May 19 from 6 to 10 p.m. ?
- University Lab School, May 19 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in Andrews Amphitheater ?
- Farrington High School, May 20 from 4:30 to 8 p.m. ?
- Kalani High School, May 23 from 6 to 10:30 p.m. ?
- Kamehameha Schools, May 28 from 4 to 8:30 p.m. ?
- Punahou School, June 3 from 7 to 10 p.m. ?
With so many ceremonies happening, it’s important to plan ahead and give yourself extra time to navigate da heavy traffic. So, if you’re attending any of these ceremonies or just driving through da area, make sure to keep dat in mind and stay safe on da roads! ?️??
